POP! Virtual Family Art Workshop

For the whole family or individual students / adults 

Create Your Own Pop-Up Books with Studio in a School Artist Robin Holder!
Presented by Studio in a School. Almost everybody delights in creating these engaging and exciting engineered books with three dimensional and moving parts! This unusual approach to making animated paper collaged elements can be simple or very complex. JOIN US!

Materials to bring: 

  • White and colored paper
  • Pencil and/or pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Dance Across the Ocean - Film Screening and Conversation
Tuesday, June 15, 12:00-12:30 PM (US EST) / 5:00-5:30 PM (UK GMT), 30 minutes

Presented by American Ballet Theatre in New York and Northern Ballet in Leeds present an unexpected pandemic collaboration. ABT choreographed remotely for Northern Ballet dancers. Northern Ballet documented the moving results on film.

American Ballet Theatre and Northern Ballet present films by ABT choreographers Zhong-Jing Fang and Ethan Stiefel featuring dancers from Northern Ballet. This fully virtual transatlantic project was filmed by Kenneth Tindall, Artistic Director, Digital at Northern Ballet.

Join Kenneth and Dennis Walters, ABT Director of Education Operations, for the premiere film screening of these dance films, their conversation about this international collaboration, and two special bonus "making of" films that show behind-the-scenes footage.

CREATIVITY WITHOUT BOUNDARIES: INSPIRED PLACES DOCUMENTARY
Wednesday, June 16, 9:00 AM (US EST) / 2:00 PM (UK GMT)

Presented by Reel Works. 14 schools, 7,000 students, 7 arts organizations, 2 countries and a global pandemic. Watch the 20 minute Reel Works documentary about how the Burberry Inspire program touched students in the US and the UK, and how an international collaboration was forged in a time of remote everything.

"Texture Drawings" Workshop
June 16, 10:10 AM (US EST) /3:10 PM (UK GMT) 

Virtually visit items from the Hepworth Wakefield museum in West Yorkshire, and then work with artists from Studio NYC and the Hepworth Wakefield on "texture drawings" in a 45-minute workshop.
