Caitlyn McCain (she/her) is the Associate Program Director for the CAT Youth Theatre and directs the JUNIOR Youth Theatre, creating original theatre from the ideas of the young people.
Caitlyn is a NYC based artist, educator, actor, voice professional and applied theatre practitioner. Caitlyn has worked extensively as a teaching artist and education associate with New York City Children’s Theatre, a Drama Curriculum Specialist with The Juilliard School’s K-12 Programs and Initiatives and a Voice and Speech instructor at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. She is the creator and host of Start the Conversation, a virtual education resource for adults and children and in 2023, Caitlyn was honored with the TYA Community Impact Award for this work. Additionally, Caitlyn is the co-creator and co-host of The Trauma-Informed Toolkit for Educators and has been featured in the New York Times for her work engaging young people through theatre during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Caitlyn holds an MA in Applied Theatre from the City University of New York and a BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies.
