A Message from our Executive Director:
To our amazing CAT community,
On behalf of everyone at the Creative Arts Team at CUNY, I want to express our deep care and consideration for you, your family, and community at this time.
We at CAT are continuing to monitor the evolving concerns surrounding COVID-19. As an organization dedicated to using the power of theatre to address academic and social issues by delivering programs in our schools and communities, we aim to support our City's youth, teachers, schools, and families. In this time of shared anxiety and social distancing, the skills we share throughout our programs, particularly creativity, communication, critical thinking, and resiliency, are more vital than ever.
While in-person school-based programs are currently suspended through April 20th, we are currently developing the best ways to continue our work with students, parents, educators, and their communities. CAT teaching artists and administrators are already working remotely to develop online/digital programs and services that support schools and sites' current needs. We are creating programming that supports literacy, social emotional skills, and arts learning, and are additionally developing programming that explores healthy conversations, coping methods, and strategies for students, parents, and teachers as we navigate our current global climate and response to COVID-19.
While focusing on digital/online opportunities to continue working with our partners, we are prepared to return to sites and provide this programming for students, parents, and teachers when schools and sites re-open.
Please keep in touch via email as well as our social networks, and do not hesitate to reach out if we can be of service to you and your community in any way. Please visit our team page for contact information.
We are so grateful for the support of our community and, as always, we are all in this together.
Sending our best wishes to you in these challenging times,
Jeanne
